Preparing Audition Repertoire

Manhattan School of Music’s faculty of world-class teaching artists wants to hear you at your best during your audition! Creating an audition plan early in the application and audition process will allow you to present yourself in the best possible light.

In this session, we’ll work together to develop a personalized audition plan to guide you through your preparation over the coming months. We’ll cover: 

• Reviewing your instrument/discipline’s specific requirements 
• Prescreen and final audition round requirements 
• Selecting appropriate repertoire for areas that provide applicant choice 
• Practice pacing as it relates to the December 1 application deadline and final auditions
• Working with accompanists
• Scheduling recording in relation to deadlines 
• And more! 

Additionally, this session will provide an overview of MSM’s academic programs and student experience.
